DS92LV16: Serializing to LVTTL to LVDS

Part Number: DS92LV16
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90LV011A, DS90LV017A

Application: Converting 16-bit LVTTL to Serial data (LVDS, 1-bit) with CLK (LVDS, 1-bit) to FPGA.

Query:
1. Is there anyway to tap out the CLK used to sync the LVDS data out?
2. Can i use the RCLK?
3. Can it be translated to LVDS?

  • Hi Stephanie,

There is not a pin or function to bring out the a full speed clock function which is synchronous to the outgoing LVDS data.  The input TCLK does have a frequency - datarate relationship with the LVDS data output.  Please see Figure 10 on page 8 of the DS92LV16 datasheet.

The RCLK function would be tracking the TCLK from another LV16 or similar device that is transmitting the data to the deserializer.

There are many devices which can translate a LVTTL signal to a LVDS signal.  The DS90LV011A and the DS90LV017A are two examples.

    Regards,
