DS80PCI810 EQ setting.

Dear eam:

 Customer would like to use 5 pcs DS*)PCI810 on connect board (IO Daughter board), and it need our EQ setting.

I list the PCB trace lengh and via to calculate a eq for them, so it needs your confimation.

DS80PCI810 setting EQ
**1.PCIE Gen3 TX input 8 inches +2 via to re-driver, output 12 inches+2 via (total path) to connector 8.3dB
2.PCIE Ge3 RX, input card to rediver 9 inches +3 via, output to CPU 11 inches+ 2 via 8.3dB
Card2:TX and RX place 810 on connection boad,  
1.PCIE Gen3 TX input 13 inches +2 via to re-driver, output 10 inches +2 via (total path) to connector 9.5dB
2.PCIE Ge3 RX, input card to rediver 13 inches +3 via, output to CPU 10 inches+ 2 via 9.5dB
Card3:TX and RX place 810 on connection boad,  
1.PCIE Gen3 TX input 9.5 inches +2 via to re-driver, output 12 inches +2 via (total path) to connector 8.3dB
2.PCIE Ge3 RX, input card to rediver 9 inches +3 via, output to CPU 11 inches+ 2 via 8.3dB
Card4:RX place 810 on connection boad,TX on CPU board

  • Hi Thomas,

    The settings look okay - assuming you are using regular FR4 and not hi-performance dielectric material.  I would to try lower settings first and then increase the CTLE setting if needed.  This helps you to get a feel for the setting your system perfers.
