XIO2001: XIO2001 missing information for a customer

Part Number: XIO2001

Hi All ,

One of our important AA customer have seen wakeup issues in his system using our XIO2001 device.

He added few filters and thought that he might be violating the PCI specs or our device specs.

The missing information he is looking for is:

1 What is the maximum rise/fall time for the PCIe RESET signal in our XIO2001 device ?.

2. Also pls. share any design recommendations related to the XIO2001 power up sequence (even though the same design was used on previous systems, this is the 1st time wake up from standby is implemented).

Best regards ,

Arik.P.

  • Hello,
    1. More than the rise/fall times, they have to make sure they meet the timing specified in Section 6.12 of the datasheet.
    2. PME# has hysteresis and so a pull-up is required. If PME# is not pulled up our device will pull WAKE signal low internally, especially when auxiliary power is enabled. If Vaux is supplied to the XIO2001, PME# must be pulled high to the Vaux rail and not to 3.3V. If PME# is pulled to 3.3V, when the system shuts down and the 3.3V rail is powered down, the XIO2001 will see the PME# line be pulled low, because the pull-up is now effectively a pull down, and immediately wake the system as it sees a wake event coming from a downstream device.

  • Hi Elias ,

The customer is NOT using Vaux at all.

Is there any other app note or further information that we can provide to assist them in debug this issue ?

Is there a usefull TIDA that can be a guide for solving their wakeup issues ?

    Best regards ,

  • Hello,

They can look at the implementation guide at below link.

Can they share the schematics for review?

Can you elaborate more about the wake issue? It is not waking up? Is it not going to sleep?...
