TPS65986: How to configure TPS6598x support 2K video resolution switching to 4k resolution in Alternate Mode

How to configure TPS6598x support 2K video resolution switching to 4k resolution in Alternate Mode with TUSB546EVM to work with Type C monitor.

the type C monitor could support switch between 2K(USB3.0+2Lane) and 4K(4Lane) resolution by pressing the button in monitor.

my requires is that PD controller works as DFP and SRC, port could not support data/power role swap.

right now I select or de-select the multifunction preferred in Display Port Capabilities setting, it work for 2K setting, but fails after switching to 4K setting.

Pls help for the right configuration setting for this requirement, thanks

Hi Hardy,

In the Display Port Capabilities register, for the DFPD Receptacle or UFPD Plug Pin Assignment, please also enable pin "E".
This should help with 4k video.

i had tried to add Pin E without selecting multifunction preferred, but it could not work, any other settings could improve the performance? thanks

additional information is that when the monitor stays in 2K resolution mode or 4K resolution mode or 4K switch to 2K, the dongle could work ok for, only fail when 2K switch to 4K,
