DP83822H: RGMII connection to MCU. Recomended magnetics and ESD protection diodes.

I'm using this IC with AM335X MCU, in RGMII mode.

In DP83822 datasheet COL/GPIO2 pin have this description:

"Collision Detect: For Full-Duplex mode, this pin is always LOW. In HalfDuplex mode, this pin is asserted HIGH only when both transmit and receive media are non-idle.
Unused in RMII Mode"

But AM335X family doesn't have RGMII_COL pin. Am I correctly understood that doesnt used in RGMII mode too?

And second question: what magnetics and ESD protection diodes are recomended for application? May be you have an AppNote for that?

    Hi Nikita,

    You are correct that COL is not used for RGMII. I should have added a comment for it when I wrote the DS. The next page though (page #6) I do explain that COL can be used as a GPIO when in RGMII operation.

    At the bottom of the DS I list recommended magnetic parameters if you would like to pick a transformer and I also listed magnetics I have tested in lab.

    The EVM has the recommended TVS array. The part number for this will be in the schematic PDF.

    Oh, sorry you are right. That's my inattention. TY, for adressing to EVM board, that's really useful information.
