Hi TI expert

   I am designing USB type C cable tester which may use retimer for design implementation. the purpose of retimer is used to generate PRBS and Check PRBS over the Type C cable. The E Marker type c cable will support up to 10Gbps data rate

From my understanding, as for Input Lock : 9.8 Gbps to 12.5 Gbps (plus divide-by-2, divide-by-4, or divide-by-8 sub-rates), it is impossible to do eye open monitor for 480Mbps. but I see some products in the market which use this two chip DS125DF1610 can do this eye open monitor for 518.19MHZ. do you have any idea how to achieve this, via firmware???

    Hi,

    The Eye Monitor function can be used as long as the CDR is locked. In addition to supporting divide 2/4/8 sub-rates of the datasheet full rate in retimed mode, if the input data is 1010 clock pattern then the retimer should be able to lock to divide by 16 data rate. Unfortunately, I do not think the DS125DF1610 would be able to acquire CDR lock for 518.19MHZ rate.
