tdp158: Pull up resistor

dear Sir

My design is VGA card and use Tdp158 to do displayport repeater

Should I add 50ohm close to Tdp158 ??

I saw TUSB546-DCI in a DisplayPort Application have no this pull up resistor

Please help to suggest

Hi Kai,

TUSB546-DCI is a native DP redriver, DP159/TDP158 are DP++ to HDMI level shifters.

For DP159 the pull-ups are needed as an HDMI receiver, the AC caps are placed to have DP compliant signals.

I'm looking for confirmation if DP158 needs the pull-ups too, I'll come back when I have suitable data.

Hi Kai,

The external 50ohms pull-ups are needed for DP159
TDP158 has internal 50-ohms pull-ups and placed when in DP mode.
