SN65DSI84: initialization sequence

Hello,

Our customer use the SN65DSI84, have a question.

Is it possible to start video stream on DSI input while initialize CSR register?

Briefly say, can the customer change the sequence of INIT seq4 and INIT seq5?

Of course, we know the SN65DSI84 does not output LVDS signal until Set the SOFT_RESET bit.

    There is a note in the device datasheet that states what is recommended.

    "If the DSI video stream starts before the device is configured, some of the error status bits may be set. It is recommended to start streaming after the device is correctly configured as recommended in the initialization sequence in the Recommended Initialization Sequence section"

    The SN65DSI84 may work, however, we can not guarantee the correct functionality if they do not follow the provided sequence.

    Thank you for your reply.
    I understood it cause to occur some of the error status bits may be set.
    If the customer don't clear the error status bit, may the SN65DSI84 work?

    Hello Naoki,

    There are error reporting registers that the system software can read to help with system debug.  The DSI84 can work, however, unexpected behaviors may occur.
