DS90UB926QSEVB: PLL settings in FPD-Link III Deserializer

Part Number: DS90UB926QSEVB

Hi,

can you provide the following informaton for the PLL settings in FPD-Link III Deserializer in order to measure signals with an oscilloscope:

- data rate

- PLL type (first or second order)

- Loop Bandwidth

- at second order PLL the gain or attenuation (loss)

Would need the information for DS90UB926, DS90UB914, DS90UB948, DS90UB940 in case there are differences.

Thank you!

  • Hi,
We received your query and the Apps engineer will get back to you after further review.
  • Hello,
For FPD-Link Deserializers, the datarate is dependant on the application use case and PCLK of Serializers.
What type of measurements you are planning to conduct with Oscilliscope will determine settings to use.
  • Hi,

Mr. Baars create this post because of my request.

We want to look at Eye-Diagram and BER measurements. So, the oscilloskop must regenerate the system clock of FPD III Signal. We have an Keysigth (DSAV134A).

But we produce testsystems and have a multitude of signals and PCLK.

Can you tell me the pll type and loop bandwidth.

How can we calculate the data rate according to PCLK?

  • Hello,

To calculate the datarate according to PCLK this is dependant on the specific serializer and deserializer pair. For 92x family this is noted in the AC characteristics

UI – Unit Interval is equivalent to one serialized data bit width (1UI = 1 / 35 × PCLK). The UI scales with PCLK frequency.

For estimation of deserializer, set Clock recover using custom PLL with Loop BW at f/15, where f is the PCLK frequency.

    Regards,

    Liam
