TPS65982: BUSPOWER_Z connection under disabling dead-battery mode

Part Number: TPS65982

Hi Team,

Under disabling dead-battery mode, Which pin should the buspower_z pin be connected to?

According to the datasheet, we can disable dead-battery mode by connecting RPD_G1 and RPD_G2 to GND. I understood that TPS65982 won't expose RD to type-C source in the condition and never link up. So I think It does not matter regardless of which pin it is connected to...

May I double check if my understanding is correct or not.

 doesn't

  • Hi Onawa-san,

If I understand it correctly, you want to completely disable dead battery operation?
If that is correct, you will need to connect BUSPOWERZ to 3.3V. This will make it so the TPS65982 is never powered from VBUS. The RPD pins can be connected to GND in this use case.

    Thank you,
    Eric
