HD3SS3220: HD3SS3220 Mux problem

Hi!

We use HD3SS3220 in our design and have some problem with USB 3.0 interface muxing. HD3SS3220 configured in DFP mode and when attached the usb cable with flash drive (the cable is USB Type-C to USB 3.1 Standard-A Receptacle Adapter), but USB 3.0 interface works only in one orientation position of USB C plug. CC1 and CC2 pins has 0.4V and 4.8V levels depends on cable's orientation when it is attached, but DIR pin always in high level. We tryed to use 4.7K PU on DIR pin, but nothing helps. When we manually set DIR pin to GND, the switch works with another cable orientation, so i think, that layout is ok. I tryed to disconnect the HD3SS3220 from I2C bus, but no result. Can we use switch without connection to I2c bus? Can you help us with this problem?

Hello,

What if you manually connect a 5.1KOhms PD resistor, I would like to run this test, just connect the Pull down resistor on CC1 and verify that the ID pin goes to low, repeat the test on CC2 and provide the status of DIR on both tests (You can also read the I2C registers to see that matches with the status of the DIR pin).

We made this test, but in both situations the ID pin stayed in high level. Now i use only pull ups on I2C bus, switch is not connected to system controller by I2C. May the problem be connected with that fact?

What about the Connection Status and Control Register (offset = 0x09)? Can you share the status in this register for both cases?
