TUSB422: About TCPM when we don’t use PD

Hi Team,

We understand that TI has TUSB320(Type-C only) but “IUNATTACHED_DRP” of TUSB320 is larger than TUSB422.

Therefore, we interested in TUSB422 but we would like to use MCU without TCPM.

If we don’t use PD, can TUSB422 support Type-C without TCPM?

Hello,

It is possible, You only have to configure the TUSB422 and read it's status when the TCPC asserts the interrupt and configure the VBUS and Signal switches accordingly (actually that is what a TCPM does).
