TUSB3410: Booting without external EEPROM

Part Number: TUSB3410

Customer is looking to the use the TUSB3410 as a USB to UART Bridge. Can the TUSB3410 boot from internal memory resources within the IC without using an external EEPROM? Our customer would like to boot the device and have his company's name show up in the boot process and he would like to do this without having to use an external EE2PROM. Is this possible? Thank you.

  • Hi Matthew,

The TUSB3410 can boot from internal memory and either load code from an external EEPROM or the USB host. Your customer could place a customized USB VID/PID in the EEPROM or the USB host, but they will not be able to customize the internal ROM of the TUSB3410.
