TUSB8020B: About Battery charging

Part Number: TUSB8020B

Hi Team,

 

We understand that TUSB8020B can support Battery charging 1.2(BC1.2), Telecommunications Industry Standard YD/T1591-2009, Divider mode.

However, Our customer would like to use BC1.2 only so they would like to disable the other battery charging detection.

Can TUSB8020B realize their request?

 

We guess that TUSB8020B can’t detect BC1.2 only.

Is my understanding correct?

If no, could you please let us know if you have any idea?

    Hello Kanemaru,

    Please disable automode mode using I2C or OTP to enable BC 1.2 only charging mode.

    Hi JMMN-san,

     

    Thank you for your prompt reply.

    I understand that TUSB8020B can support “BC1.2” and “Chinese Telecommunications Industry Standard YD/T 1591-2009” if Auto mode is disabled(autoModeEnz=”1”).

    Therefore, this case, TUSB8020B can’t detect BC1.2 only.

    Is my understanding correct?

    Hello Kanemaru,

    Chinese Telecommunications Industry standard YD/T 1591-2009 has the same DP short to DM as USB Battery Charging 1.2 DCP mode, so if automode is disabled, the TUSB8020B will support BC 1.2 CDP / DCP modes and no other modes.
