Hi Sir,

During startup, we are asked to run the bisten test to ensure the link is appropriate. Also we want to run it quick enough so as to not affect startup time for our ECU

QUESTIONS:

what is the least amount of time it is possible to run the bisten test. (ie after how much ms can we read the pass pin)

what is the ideal amount of time to run the bisten test? (1ms ? 5ms? 20ms? more? )

is there any application note on a typical scenario of how to do this test.

    Hello Ahmed,

    It’s totally up to you how long to run BIST, if you want to do this.
    Normally when diagnosing an issue we will run for at least 30 seconds, but you could run for a second or two to get a quick check.

    the ideal amount of time to run BIST varies from device to device and from what you want to check. For 933 -934 if you want to test just the Forward channel, few seconds should be okay. But if you want to test the back channel then few minutes are required.
