DS64BR401: Can the device support 3G-SDI (SMPTE 425) with differential 100 ohm signal ?

Hi Team,

Our customer is considering to use DS64BR410 between the two FPGAs for signal conditioning.

Signal will be SMPTE 425 (3G-SDI) 100 ohm differential signal.

Can DS64BR410 support this video signal including pathological pattern ?

If there are any restrictions, please let us know.

Please also tell us if there is a better device for this application.

Hi Kawai,

The DS64BR401 can support video signals. Like SDI specific devices it will require higher value AC coupling capacitors to handle the patterns. I recommend to place these capacitors close to the receiver side of the link.

Thank you for the information.
I will ask customer to evaluate the device using 4.7uF AC coupling cap to handle the pathological pattern.
