DS90UB964-Q1: Synchronized forwarding

Part Number: DS90UB964-Q1

Dear Sir

I saw 964 have 3 Synchronized forwarding mode could be selected

May I know what's the benefit for for each of mode ??

Thanks

  • Kai,
to use the synchronization mode, please be noted:
    • Video arriving at input ports should be synchronized within approximately 1 video line period
    • All enabled ports should have valid, synchronized video
    • Each port must have identical video parameters, including number and size of video lines, presence of
    synchronization packets, etc.
regarding the comparison among the three sync. modes, actually it is more dependent on the MIPI interface of processor. Please see the function description of d/s (page34/35), basic synchronized forwarding can have same or diff. VC ID. If processor does not support multi VCs, you should select line-interleave forwarding mode to support the same VCs of 4 camera inputs.

For your case, if the 4 cameras are not synchronized well, and the processor can properly decode the various video streams based on VC and DT fields, you can use the best-effort round robin CSI-2 forwarding.

    best regards,
    Steven
