SATA Generation 3 signal integrity

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS64BR111

Dear Team,

I want to increase the signal integrity of a SATA port. I need a additional retimer or redriver for one SATA TX+- pair and one RX+- pair between a CPU board and a SATA SSD Drive because I have loss regarding long cable, and long wires on the PCB. Could you suggest me please one or more parts which are able to redrive or retime a 3.GEN SATA port with 6GB bandwidth.

Thanks in advance

Raimund

  • Hi Raimund,

There are several devices which can work with SATA3.

The SN65LVCP601 is designed for SATA3.  Its equalization performance can be adjusted in several steps with control pins.

The DS64BR111 is designed for SATA3 as well.  It has finer control over equalization.  The performance of this device can be adjusted with pins, over SMBus, or via EEPROM load.

    Regards,

    Lee
