TUSB422: TUSB422: About UFP mode

Part Number: TUSB422

Hi

If I use as UFP mode (no battery), the CC pin is pull low default, right?

or how to set ? (MCU is no power prsent at initial), thanks~

BR,

Driscoll

  • Hello Driscoll,

This is the dead battery case and the TUSB422 supports it. The TUSB422 presents the Rd terminations (5.1K pull-down resistors) when there is no power supply, no action needed by the MCU.

    Diego.

  • Hi Diego,

    thanks for your info.

so, if it as UFP application, we needn't apply power to VCONN and need the circuit to get power from VBUS for MCU and TUSB422.

do you have reference circuit for this?

    thanks~

    Regards,

    Driscoll

  • Driscoll,

You can use the figure 76 as a reference and leave VCONN as not connected. It is important to mention that it is possible to provide VCONN in UFP mode, if you don´t want to support VCONN at all, then you must configure the TUSB422 to reject any VCONN SWAP request from the DFP side (please see the register map for more information).

    Regards,

    Diego.
