TCA6416A: TCA6416A I2C Valid data time

Hi,

TCA6416A's I2C Interface Timing Requirements mentions that
Valid data time(tvd(data)) as 1us(Max) as shown below. Is this a typo??
According to our understanding all other TI's devices have Valid data time of 0.9us(Max)
this is the only device I have seen with 1us.

We are using this with AM335x processor which requires Hold time to be 0.9us(Max).
Actually all other processors has this requirement.

Please let us know if this is a typo in the TCA6416A datasheet?

Kummi,

Looking over our internal test results, the TCA6416A could easily support a 0.9-us maximum hold time for fast mode. I'm not sure whether this was a typo initially or if it was just overly conservatively specified, but in any case I have requested that the datasheet be updated to reflect a tighter limit.

Hi Max,

Thank you very much for the confirmation.
If the Hold time is 1us as written in the datasheet
then TCA6416A could not be used with most of the TI products.
Because almost all TI device's Maximum hold time is 0.9us.

When can we expect the datasheet update?

I have already filled the "Document Feedback Form" of this datasheet.

Kummi,

It typically takes a few weeks for changes to be approved, implemented, and then published.
