Hello guys,
One of our customer started to evaluate ISO5452.
They have a few question about the device as the follow.
Could you please give me your answer to the questions?
Question:
A controller which operates with 5V drives ISO5452 IN+ (IN-=GND) directly. ISO5452 VCC1 is driven by different 5V power supply from the 5V power supply which drives the controller. According to the customer, they want to shut the power supply of ISO5452 only in some emmergency case. Then the controller operation is continued and H(5V) level and L(0V) level pulse are applied to ISO5452 IN+ alternately. They know that this situation is not good for ISO5452 because IN+ voltage violate the absolute maximum rating of V(LIP), VCC1+0.3V. The device may be broken. But they want to do this control.
So their question is that is there any way to avoid breaking the device? If 1kohm resistor is inserted between the controller output and ISO5452 IN+ pin, the device is safe because the flowing curret into IN+ is limitted?
Your reply would be appreciated.
Best regards,
Kazuya Nakai.
