TFP410: Can be used for HDMI sink device..?

Please use the TFP401A receiver if you require an HDMI sink interface device. The TFP410 transmitter would be used as an HDMI source. Please also note that, for HDMI, both of these devices are only functional for video.

Hi,

I want to interface HDMI connector to the processor where in I can connect HDMI display unit. In this case I will need HDMI transmitter interfaced with processor.

I have designed the board with the TFP410 TI PanelBus™ Digital Transmitter IC but the datasheet focus more on DVI interface than HDMI. So is the selection of TFP410 IC as HDMI transmitter correct..??

Yes, an application use for this part is HDMI transmitter. Please reference page 1 of the datasheet to see a "Typical HDMI Interface" diagram.

Hi,

Thanks for the support. I referred that diagram when designed my board with this IC but as the DVI compliant is more focused for this IC I so was confused.

Also, when I want to interface EDID module of the display unit (connected over HDMI) on DDC channel, what will be the address for that...??

There are I2C pins on the HDMI connector to read EDID module, but the slave address of display units may vary so how should I do that..??

Hello Dhara,

The DDC channel does not interface with the TFP410; it is directly connected from the GPU to the display unit. Normally the address for the EDID is 0xA0, but you should reference the VESA (https://www.vesa.org/) standard for specifics.
