Nice to meet you. My customer is designing the typeC in the camera to connect to the Type-C Audio Adapter Accessory. According to the reference design page6. http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/tidub66/tidub66.pdf ,customer want to know whether he need to add the resistor in the camera typeC side or the adapter accessory cable will contain the resistor. Could you give us some suggestion? Thanks a lot.

Hi,

the accessory will need to have the pulldown resistors on CC1 and CC2 to identify as audio accessory, which will be detected by the PD controller in your camera.

My customer design the TS5USBA224 inside the camera. Should he also need to place the resistor insid the camera TS5USBA224 ? Or just only accessory have the pulldown resistor ?

Hi,

only accessory has pulldown on CC1 and CC2. Please also review page 9 to 11 in the reference design guide, which shows the schematic for the reference design.
