TUSB3410: Required specification of external clock module connecting to XI/CLKI

Our customer needs more detailed requirement for the external clock module connecting to XI/CLKI.
Could you tell me the Tr & Tf of CLKI input timing, frequency tolerance and so on?

Hello Takishin,

THe TUSB3410 requres a 12Mhz Crystal to work. The Crystal requirements are decribed in section 6.5 on the TUSB3410 data, for your reference the part that we have tested in our design is a 12Mhz crytal (P-16808) from Crystek.

Our customer is going to use an oscillator module instead of a 12MHz crystal.

If there are some requirements for the oscillator module, Please let me know the requirements.

Hello Takishin,

If you are going to use an external oscilator, you need to provide a 12Mhz clock signal to X1 pin this signal should not exceed the 1.8V. and leave X2 unconnected.

We need the information of output of an external oscillator module.

What is your recommendation about the tr/tf, duty cycle and frequency tolerance for the oscillator?

Hello Takishin,

1)For 20% to 80% mus be a tr/tf of 6ns

2)Duty cycle of 50 %

3)Tolerance of +-100PPM
