Hi Team,

We understand that we can use VBUS for VDD in UFP mode(Figure20).

And, we would like to use VBUS for VDD in DRP mode

Could you please let us know if you have any concern?

  • Hello Kanemaru-san,

You must take into account that this configuration will cause a UFP connection all the time, this is because the TUSB320HAI supports dead-battery, so it presents DR terminations on both CC pins when powered off and will be detected as UFP device all the time since VBUS is provided only after a successful CC detection. Even if you force a port role change to DFP, it will not be successful because once the TUSB320HAI changes the CC termination it will lose the power from VBUS.

    Regards,
    Diego.
