PCI2050B: abnormal PCI2050 device name shown on AMI BIOS tool RU.EXE that cuase Linux OS installation failed

Part Number: PCI2050B

Hi Team,

customer designed in the PCI2050 device on their system board, they feedback that when they used AMI BIOS tool RU.EXE to scan the system PCI device on DOS mode, it happened that an unknown device is shown instead of the PCI2050 in the PCI device list. This phenomenon caused the Linux OS installation failed. However, if they disable the PCI root bridge device of the PCI2050 or disable the PCI2050 input clock, the Linux OS installation became normal.

Please advise what would be the problem root cause? Or if any PCI2050 related setting need to be consider from system point of view?

Thanks.

Regards,

Arthur
