Hi,

I have a problem about TFP401A HDMI to digital RGB converter,

In reference schematic, there is an EEPROM is connected to HDMI connector (input side),

it seem using for identification, but I cannot find out the software of this EEPROM,

Anyone wh can help me ? please...

Hi Vincent,

Are you referring to the reference design of TFP501 instead? TFP401A doesn't use EEPRROM.

Can you send me the link to the reference schematic?

Hi Vincent,

The TFP401 does not require any EEPROM to operate. See Table 3. in 10.2.1 of datasheet.
The EEPROM shown on the schematic is used to store the EDID information, this EDID information is handled directly by the Video sink and the TFP does not have anything to do with that.
With this EDID information the Video sink tells to the Video source what are its capabilities.

If you look at the block diagram in Page 1 of the TFP401 datasheet, the EDID information is going directly from source to sink.
