TPS65982: Where to write the flash identifier?

Part Number: TPS65982

Hi,

I would like to ask you which register should be used as a flash identifier? Indeed i would like to test a few differents binaries and I would like to write a different identifier for each of them (to differentiate them).

Should I use the register 0x06 (custom use) or is there another register meant for that?

Thanks in advance,

Daniel

  • Hi Daniel,

I'm currently taking a look at this and will get back to you soon.

  • Hi Daniel,

Looking at the Host Interface documentation, the register 0x06(CUSTUSE) can be used for any purpose. You should be able to use the 0x06 register for the purpose of identifying and differentiating between the different flashes.

It should be noted that there is a 0x2E Build Identifier register that will provide a unique firmware version build. However, with that register, if you loaded the same firmware but changed a few configuration using the Application Customization tool, the build identifier will recognize the same firmware version information.

In the end, it is recommended to use 0x06 register since it provides the most flexibility for your purpose.
