TUSB501: Inquiry for P/N signal and IBIS-AMI model

Hi team

Could you share with me about TUSB501/551 below?

1. Is it OK to exchange P/N signal? The customer would like to exchange the signal because of pattern on the board.

2. IBIS-AMI model

Hi Takanori,

In USB3 you can swap the lane polarity, during link initialization the physical layer will fix it.

You can find the IBIS-AMI(And HSPICE) model of TUSB501 in its product page under tools & software tab.

For TUSB551 we just have HSPICE.

Is it OK to swap P/N for TUSB551? Because following information is described on the datasheet.
The customer guess that it seems to be affect by Vdetect.

1. VRX-LFPS- DET-DIFF-pp min100/max300 mVpp
2. Vdetect Positive voltage to sense receiver termination max600mV

Hi Takanori,

For LFPS signaling there is a burst of toggling differential 1/0, there are two states burst or idle. if the burst is between 6~9us there is a logic 0, if the burst is between 11~14us there is a logic 1.

The Vdetect you mention is for receiver detection, not for LFPS.

It does not affect by Vdetect when P/N is swap. Is it correct?

Hi Takanori,

The polarity swap fix is defined in the specification, it won't affect Rx detection either LFPS transmission.
