DP83630: SyncE And 1588v2

Hi,

In our customize Board we are using DP83630 for SyncE And IEEE1588, we are using POE to get power and data from other board for this board. We want to implement 1588 and SyncE Please suggest how we use in hardware and what extra circuitry we required in hardware like PLL and jitters attenuatior etc. in hardware.

Hi Neelam,

Implementing a functional 1588v2 stack is a large task that includes HW & SW design depending on the clock being created.

As a starting point, I'd recommend reading the 1588 synchronization over standard networks app note: www.ti.com/.../snla116a.pdf

You can also use the Software Design Guide as a description of how to implement the software stack for 1588v2: www.ti.com/.../snlu049

You may need to pull in additional resources about 1588v2 like types of clocks available to determine what your needs are for your system.

Thanks Rob Rodrigues for your help.We want to implement SyncE also Could you suggest any reference design available for SyncE and any recommended PLL and its support circuitry for SyncE.
