Hi,

I received the following question from my customer.

How much is the distribution of EQ level(i.e. Level 1)?

Connecting malfunction of Carplay occurs for each their products.

Hello Kuramoshi-san,

Please re-elaborate your question, I don't understand what you want to know about the EQ levels. For a quick guideline, if we order the EQ levels from Low to High we get the sequence Level 3, Level 1 and Level 2 (this means that Level 3 is the weakest, Level 1 the medium and Level 2 the strongest).

Sorry for my uncertainly.

We would like to know the distribution of each EQ level.
Though each EQ level isn't specified on the datasheet, could you show them?

Some customer's system occurs wrong connection with Carplay and others doesn't.
They seem to consider that it depends on the parts.

Kuramochi-san,

There is a close approach in dB for the EQ level, I hope it will be helpful:

EQ0 is 1dB
EQ1 is 2dB
EQ2 is 3dB
EQ3 is .4dB

It could be also due to differences in length and cable quality, it is also possible that the devices have different input tolerances or output strength. The straight forward path is to consider the results of USB compliant devices only. Please check whether the devices with connection issues are USB certified.

Kuramcohi-san,

The levels I mentioned are compensations, % equivalent for each dB would be

0.4dB compensates a signal that is 95% of the original.
1 dB compensates a signal that is 89.12% of the original.
2 dB compensates a signal that is 79.43% of the original.
3 dB compensates a signal that is 70.79% of the original.

Please let me know if this is what you meant by % of dissipation.

I'm so sorry for my typo (dissipation → dispersion)...

I would like to know the dissipation EQ level as follows.

i.e.) 0.4dB ± x % or 0.4dB ± x dB

Hello Kuramoshi-san,

Unfortunately, we do not have such data. Actually, the dB values I provided are an approximation, this is because the TUSB211 compensates the signal's slew rate by injecting current. This is not a standard compensation process.

I understood that compensating amount cant be represent as constant value.

Could you show the dispersion of injecting current?
I'm understanding that amount of injecting current is not proportional to compensating amounts.
