TUSB544: Help to check some issues about it.

Part Number: TUSB544

Dears:

There are some questions about TUSB544 as follows:

1.  Can we disconnect SBU signals under TUSB544 has no power and the system has power?

In the system SBU has two functions, one is imitate headphone and the other is DP's AUX interface.

2. What is the state of IIC ? Is it Hi-Z state? Whether the IIC will leak current if TUSB544 has no power and the system has power?

3. What is influence of HPDIN and SLP_S0 in the USB protocol?

Thanks!

Best regards

Luck Wu

  • Hello Lian,

Yes, you can disconnect the SBU signals when the TUSB544 is powered down, just make sure that the SBU lines are connected before the DP mode is enabled. Your second question needs to clarify whether the device has no power at all or is in disabled mode and which pins are you referring to; in Shut down mode, its power consumption is as low as 0.65mW.

The HPDIN has no effect in USB, this signal belongs to the DP interface and that's it, meanwhile SLP_S0# disables the RX_detect function, if the device is active when asserted (LOW), then its internal receivers/drivers will be ON permanently, regardless if there is a USB device connected or not. On the other hand, if the device is disabled when SLP_S0 is asserted (LOW), then its internal receivers/drivers will be OFF permanently, regardless if there is a USB device connected or not. We recommend leaving this pin connected to HIGH for normal operation.

    Diego.
