Hi,

I am running my 2 Phase Interleaved BOOST PFC converter in closed loops.But,one of my Mosfet is only taking current and getting damaged.And also the resistor in series with the particular mosfet(which is getting damaged) is also damaged.This resistor is involved in the turnoff process of the mosfet.I have added the diagram for reference.

Can some one tell me what are the possible reasons for the damage.I noticed one thing that my mosfet may get damaged if my Controller design is improper.

Hello Gannamraju,

You should be able to catch the event on a scope.
Careful triggering and patience may allow you to catch the event.
If it is failing you can capture it.

We need to know more about your circuit.
What PFC controller, mosfet driver, mosfets, etc, are you using?
Can you send a schematic?

Is this on a copper PCB or a breadboard?

Infineon-1EDI20N12AF-DS-v02_00-EN driver IC for MOSFET.pdf IPP60R099P6.pdf charger_ckt (2).pdfwe are using the boost converter for the PFC , i have attached the mosfet datasheet and mosfet driver datasheet as well as the schematic of our complete circuit below. and we are implementing the circuit on the copper PCB not the breadboard.

I still do not have enough information to provide a complete answer.
Since the mosfet and driver are both Infineon, have you tried contacting their support?

I would suggest you look in the UCC28070 Two-Phase Interleaved CCM PFC Controller , product folder.

Technical Documents tab contains application notes and other design examples.

The EVM is a good reference;
UCC28070 300-W Interleaved PFC Pre-Regulator User's Guide
You could purchase this and explore the waveforms.
UCC28070 PFC controller and UCC27324 mosfet driver are used.

Tools and Software tab has many reference designs.

Compare the TI designs to yours.
1. PCB layout
2. component selection and placement.
3. IC's used

This may help lead you to the source of the problem.
