FPC401: Port Controller for SFP28 and QSFP28

Part Number: FPC401

Hello,

Is the FPC401 supported for SFP28 and QSFP28? If not, would you have some solutions ?

Best Regards,

Toshiyuki

  • Hi

Your immediate response is highly appreciated.

  • Hi Toshiyuki-san,

Our apologies for the delayed response. The primary difference between SFP+/QSFP+ and SFP28/QSFP28 is the maximum high-speed bandwidth supported (10.3125 Gbps vs. 28.78125 Gbps). There is no difference regarding low-speed I2C and control-signaling.

Since SFP28 is backwards compatible with SFP+ ports where FPC401 is used, there should be no issue with using FPC401 with SFP28/QSFP28 since FPC401 is used only for aggregating low-speed signaling.

    Thanks,

    Michael
