TINA/Spice: Products can support Time-Domain Reflectometry?

TI Team,

I'm in the process of developing a cable tester that basically check for the quality, opens, shorts and length of the cables . And I find out there are many chips can work for me, such as DP83867, DP83620, DP83849 and so on. But all these chips are Ethernet Physical Layer Transceiver, I just use it for the cables test.

Can any one tell me is there any other chips I can use just for cable test?

Any information you can provide is greatly appreciate.

    Hi QJ,

    My apologies for such a late reply.

    The DP83867, DP83620, and DP83849 are all Ethernet PHYs and are not designed to test arbitrary cables for quality.

    I am not aware of an IC that is designed for the purpose of arbitrarily checking quality of cabling.
