Hi Team,

Can you help me with this question?

I see in the datasheet that there is a 28bit message structure which is different depending upon whether or not you’re in 12-bit HF, LF, or 10-bit mode. I’m trying to understand what would happen if the 934 is configured for 12-bit mode and the 933 is running in 10-bit mode (due to a local side reset event, since the default register condition for 933 appears to be 10-bit mode)

Hi,

Follow on question:

Can there be I2C traffic between devices on the 933 side I2C bus, and when I2C_PASS_THRU is disabled at the '934, the I2C traffic on that serializer side doesn't effect the deserializer 934 I2C bus? I see Figure 25 on page 26 of 52 in the '933 datasheet, but it doesn't necessaritly answer this question.

If 933 is in 10-bit mode and 934 output is in 12-bit mode, you should still be able to get 10 "usable" bits at the 934 and ignore the other two bits. For different configurations, there is an older application note that may be helpful: www.ti.com/lit/an/slla300/slla300.pdf

May be you can describe a specific case of what customer is trying to do.

When I2C passthrough is disabled, the deserializer cannot communicate with the remote serializer. Please take a look at Table 3 of www.ti.com/lit/an/snla222/snla222.pdf
