Dear Guys,

Pls help for issue when we test TPS2553 EVM.

I’m trying to test the reverse-voltage protection of TPS2553, as shown in the following figure.

Here’s my test setup.

Turn on CH1 (5.0V) on DC power supply.
Connect a 5-ohm resistor or an E-load with 1A constant-current load at Vout of TPS2553 EVM.
Turn on CH2 (5.5V) on DC power supply.
Observe the FAULT pin on TPS2553EVM.

However, I have difficulty having FAULT pulled low (active) when a reverse voltage (5.5V) is applied to Vout.

Could you help me understand what might be wrong?

Hi ,

The point is Vout must above Vin 130mV for at least 5mS(typical). You need to check whether Vin is low than Vout during the reverse case (reverse current will charge the input cap very fast may less than 5ms) . If this two condtion haven't meet , the reverse voltage protection feature will don't touch, Faul pin will not assert .
