TPS65982: low power control for TPS65982

Part Number: TPS65982

I wants to get low power performance with TPS65982 working as DRP mode.

and I check the sleep mode in TPS65982 datasheet, and it just consume 58uA in sleep mode,

I want to confirm if the TPS65982 working in DRP mode can detect the DFP and UFP when it is under sleep mode,

and the TPS65982 chip can output GPIO high to alert MCU to wake up the hold system?

thanks for your feedback.

  • Hi Hardy,

On connection, the TPS65982 will wake up and be able to detect DFP/UFP while in DRP mode. Similarly, in order for the chip to output a GPIO, the pin should be mapped to a wake event before the state can change.

For example, if the GPIO #1 is high while in active, it will stay high when it is in sleep. In order to change this GPIO, there must be an event (such as a plug connection, or I2C transaction) to wake up the device which can then change the state of the GPIO.

    Thank you,
    Jaime
