migrating from tl16c554 to tl16c554A

High,

are there any app notes how to migrate from 16c554 to 16c554A?

As far as I understand is the is the A-revision capable of operating at  both 5V and 3,3V. According to the datasheet the electrical parameters at 5V operation are almost the same as the 16c554.

Th only significant difference I found are the AFE Functions ( Bit 5 of MCR). So if my Sw leaves the AFE bit unchanged the 16c554A should be fully compatible with the 16c554 (without index).

Is this correct or are there any other traps?

    Hello Stephan,

    I apologize for the delay in responding.  The only changes from the TL16C554 to the TL16C554A are the 3.3V operation support and the addition of the Autoflow (AFE) capability. The TL16C554A has the same pinout and can be used as a drop in replacement for the TL16C554. No migration document was ever created for these changes.
