SN65HVD96: Data over Power design

Hello,

I'm designing a data over power solution based on application note SLLA336 and TI design TI Designs: TIDA-00527.

Sensor side:

sensor with PWM output at 4KHz, VCC = 5V, ICCmax = 0.1A.

Board side:

MCU that needs to read the PWM signal and supply power to the sensor.

Between the board the and sensor, I've got 13 meters cable with only 2 wires to transfer both the power supply and the data.

Will it work, or should I make some changes to my design?

Igal,
Your design looks good to me. Since the data rate of the application is not that high, please check if the bus signal gets attenuated at both ends. If so, you might want to increase AC coupling capacitor value from 0.33uF. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Do you have any specific layout guidelines (besides the controlled impedance for for differential RS422 input)?

The general rules for RS485 layout apply here. You can refer to section 12 (page25) on the datasheet of SN65HVD72. Please let me know if you have any questions.
