TFP401: TFP401 OVdd

Part Number: TFP401

My customer is asking about the effect of using 1.8V for OVdd. See his questions below:

The TFP401 output pins are powered from their own power supply pins (OVdd).  The data sheet states that this power supply should be set to 3.3V.  Is it possible to set OVdd to 1.8 V instead?  If so, what would be the effect on performance?  The application is to interface the output pins to an FPGA with 1.8 V I/O pins.

Will using 1.8V for OVdd effect the performance of the device? Will it cause any issues?

Thanks for your help with this!
