TPS2544: TSP2544 Version for using with 9V and 12V Supply

Hello All,

I am using TPS2544 for my application, which is to charge mobile devices in DCP mode from any USB power source.As the maximum voltage that can be applied to IC is 7v, our application needs an IC with similar features and characteristics but with higher voltage rating.

Is there any version of the IC whose rating can go upto 9v and 12 v for charging in DCP modes?Please help!

Hi Chaithanya,

All similar devices to the TPS2544 have max operating voltages of 5.5V. However, the TPS2544 is designed to be powered from the same 5V rail that provides the Vbus to the USB port. Is there any particular reason this 5V is not available?

Hi Porter,
In our application we are trying to achieve fast charging with SDP and CDP ports. But when the same is connected to turbo charger USB adopter, output for the turbo enabled devices is either 9v or 12v which is applied directly on the Vbus of the IC. So, I am looking for a higher voltage rating IC with the same features.

Unfortunately our devices do not support Turbo or Quick Charging.
