DP83867ERGZ-R-EVM: MAC interface pin and MDIO control

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB-2-MDIO

Hi

I have two questions.

1.

I referred SNLU 190 (October 2015) user guide and I was confused at the following sentence.

"MAC interface pins are located on J9 and J8." on page 7.

MAC interface is J2 and J3, correct?  Could you please check, just in case?

2.

Having USB-2-MDIO tool (and MSP430LP) is easier way to carry out 1000BASE-T compliance test?

User guide shows it is not required. Does it mean user can set test mode register using something like 3rd party tool to control MDIO/MDC?

BestRegards

  • HI Nana,

    1. Yes, that is a typo. The MAC interface is on J2 and J3.

    2. It does not matter what tool the user has. The only requirement is the registers are set as shown in the compliance testing app note. Most often, this is done in the system by the user's microprocessor/FPGA.

    Best Regards,
