TPS65982: AUX MUX of Pin assignment E of Alternate Mode

When UFP support pin assignment E of DP Altmode and AUX is connected through PD controller, AUX P/N should be swapped as described as below.

It seems there is an option can mux the AUX signal on the config tool. How can I enable this when only Pin assignment E has been negotiated?

Hi Andrew,

Our firmware takes care of flipping the AUX lines depending on the various modes. Therefore. if the DP starts in assignment E then, the AUX lines will be swapped automatically as per the spec.

Please don't use the "Mux Swap" bit. Thats there for some design specific requirement which you are not using.

Yes, all of our official releases including 1.12.05 supports this feature.

Dear Rahul:

I checked 1.12.06 FW released note, but I don't see bug fixed list showed AUX pin polarity swap automatic as assignment E.

Could you make sure it? Or it post on the other document?

Hi Thomas,

There was never a bug, the Mux Swap bit was implimented for a particular project and that's what I said that it should't be used in normal projects.

Hi Rahul,

As I tested so far, the auto swapping of AUX on pin assignment E of UFP_D is not operating properly.

I set the UFP_D capability as pin assignment E only for the test purpose and built two FW that one with MUX SWAP BIT enabled and one with disabled as a default.

and the type-C mux was configured to receive pin assignment E.

I was only able to see a video when the MUX SWAP bit is enabled.

can you check again that the auto swapping is working on "UFP_D" side as well?

Rahul,

I don't think i can make test setup for DFP_D test. but i believe it works because initial Type-C to DP/HDMI gender was always working with DFP_D of PC.

do you have any status update for the UFP_D debugging?
