TFP401A: LVDS_HDMI Bridge

I'm in the process of implementing a LVDS to HDMI bridge using the TFP401A and SN75LVDS83B two chip approach.

My question is regarding SCDT (pin8), can I leave it not connected?

Hello Teboho Ramakatsa ,
With no input the device will output the free-running PLL on ODCK. With no input, the state of the control and data output signals is unknown. Noise on the differential data inputs can be decoded as random data and therefore appears to change on the output as the free-running PLL output changes.
To avoid this situation SCDT pin should be connected to PDO.

Hello Teboho Ramakatsa,

The TFP401 seems set up correctly in the schamatics. I only suggest adding an option to tied SCDT to PDO pin in order to power down the output drivers when the link is inactive.
