TMDS181: supported 4K * 2K 60HZ

Part Number: TMDS181

Hi Sirs,

Sorry to bother you.

As title, if we would like use TMDS181 on 4K * 2K 60HZ, could we setting by pin strap mode?

Or must use I2C to control?

And how to setting?

By the way, we can pass 4K * 2K 30 hz

  • Hi Shu-Cheng,

    The TMDS181 should work in the pin-strap mode for all resolutions.
    Could you elaborate on the problem you are seeing?
    What configuration do you have in control pins?

    Regards
  • Hi Moises,
    Thanks for your reply.
    Please refer my control pin setting as below

    I2C_EN-->LO
    > SIG_EN-->LO
    > PRE_SEL-->NC
    > EQ_SEL_/A0 -->NC
    > TEST_A1 -->NC
    > TX_TERM_CTL-->NC
    > SWAP-->NC
  • Hi Shu-Cheng,

    Could you elaborate on the application and issue?

    Is this a sink, source, or repeater board application?

    When you move from 4k@30Hz to 4k@60Hz, the display is all black or there is any unstable video?Have you tried different EQ?

    Can you use the EyeScan tool or local I2C interface to share the status of internal registers?

    Regards

  • Hello Shu-Cheng,

    Are you routing the DDC lines to the TMDS181 SDA_SNK/SCL_SNK signals? The TMDS181 must be able to snoop these lines to identify the correct time to change the clock ratio from 1/10 (HDMI 1.4b) to 1/40 (HDMI 2.0) and back. The TMDS181 snoops the DDC lines looking for the SCDC register access from source to sink. If the TMDS181 cannot snoop the DDC lines, the clock ratio change must be set manually over I2C to support HDMI 2.0.
