DS110DF1610: DS110DF1610

Part Number: DS110DF1610

Hi,

I have some problems about DS110DF1610.

1.  I couldn't exactly get the meaning of "group 0 and group 1" in the datasheet . Would you please give me a expression in detail?

2.  If I use only 12 channels of DS110DF1610 with  the data rate of 10Gbps per channel  and leave the rest 4 channels unused, how can I program the channel registers?  The data travels on optical fibre.

3.  If  adapt mode of DFE is enabled , whether DS110DF1610 can obtain the optimum DFE parameters  automatically or not. How can I get the exact optimum DFE parameters?

Look forward to your reply. Thanks.

Best Regards,

Bing Xin

  • Hi Bing,

The "Group 0" and "Group 1" are discussed in section 7.2.1 - 7.2.2 of the datasheet.  These groups represent the allowed or valid VCO divide rates for each setting in channel register 0x2F.  The datasheet also refers to "first group" and "second group".  Group 0 = First Group.  Group 1 = Second Group.

The unused channels will go to a low power state automatically if there is no input signal present.  There should be no need to program or modify the contents of the unused channels.

The DS110DF1610 will adapt the DFE automatically to produce the optimal eye opening at the receiver sampling point.

  • Hi Lee,

    Thank you for your reply.
I also want to know more about the register configuration. My case is as follows.
    TX1a,1b,2a,2b,3a,3b,4a,4b,5a,5b,7a,7b(12ports) ->10Gbps
In this case, would you please provide me the register programming information?
Do I have to program register 0x2F at the same time?

    Best Regards,
    Bing Xin
