Hello

I'm checking PHY Chip supports TDR Cable Diagnostics.

In case of dp83822 or any PHY CHIP support TDR

Cable Open • Cable Short • Link Partner Down • TX/RX pair cross-wired • Impedance discontinuity

TDR described as working above conditions.

Is it possible to know which condition using TDR?

Hi Billy,

I am not sure what your question is. What do you mean by what condition is using TDR?

The TDR in the DP83822, and all PHYs from TI, only work while the link is down, or link is not active.

I mean when link is down, tdr can distinguish what problem(cable open, cable short, etc...) is?

Hi Billy,

Yes. Only when the link is down, inactive, can the TDR distinguish what problem the cable has. (open, short, properly terminated)
