SN75DP139: reference design

Hi Moises,
thank you for the schematic.
On lines TMDSX_X_SOURCE I have attached some ESD protections like TPS4E02B04, and other kind of protections for low-speed lines, do you think that the GROUND pin of these components should be connected to internal ground or to the SHIELD pin of HDMI connector?

in the schematic you sent there is an RC between SHIELD and GND, in this case the ESD protection must be connected to GND?

Hi Luca,

The RC in the shield is a common practice to reduce emissions, however in the reference design of newer devices the shield is connected directly to GND.
The GND pin from ESD devices is connected directly to GND plane.
I'll send you the schematic of DP149, the improved version of DP139.
