DS80PCI810: pin difference with DS80PCI800

Part Number: DS80PCI810
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS80PCI800

Hi there:

greeting! I'd like to know the pin define difference between DS80PCI800 & DS80PCI810.

We already know they are pin-to-pin solution.

But if we use the DS80PCI800 design & parameter, could we just replace it by DS80PCI810?

  • Hi Kay,

Assuming that the insertion loss of the channel before the DS80PCI810 is less than 35 dB @ 4 GHz, I expect that you will be able to replace the DS80PCI800 with the DS80PCI810.

The DS80PCI810 is a linear redriver version of the DS80PCI800, and therefore it does not contain any de-emphasis or limiting mode operation on the driver side. In addition, the receiving side only has one EQ gain stage available in the DS80PCI810 instead of 4 EQ gain stages in the DS80PCI800. For tuning the EQ, I recommend starting with Level 1 and tuning up to Level 4 to determine the lowest necessary EQ needed to achieve error-free operation at the highest rate and link width. See Table 4 and 5 of the DS80PCI810 datasheet.

    Regards,

    Michael

thanks! I'll close this one and announce an new one for further discussion.
